La m (en mayúscula M, nombre eme, plural emes) es la decimotercera letra y la décima consonante del alfabeto español y del alfabeto latino básico.
En inglés representa el sonido de la consonante bilabial [m] y también nasal y sonora, así como en muchas lenguas modernas.[1] En inglés, el Diccionario inglés de Oxford (primera edición) dice que «m» es a veces una vocal en palabras como espasm y en el sufijo -ism. En terminología moderna, esto sería descrito como consonante silábica [ñ].
