This character is a Lowercase Letter and is mainly used in the Cirílico script. Its uppercase variant is Glifo para U+040A Cyrillic Capital Letter Nje and its titlecase variant is Glifo para U+040A Cyrillic Capital Letter Nje.

The glyph is not a composition. It has no designated width in East Asian texts. In bidirectional text it is written from left to right. When changing direction it is not mirrored. The word that U+045A forms with similar adjacent characters prevents a line break inside it.

La ñe o nje (Њ, њ) es una ligadura de Н y Ь (N más el signo de palatalización) usada como letra en el serbio y el macedonio para representar al palatal nasal [ɲ], el mismo sonido que es representado en el español por Ñ. Fue inventada por Vuk Stefanović Karadžić como una ligadura de las letras Н y Ь[1]​ que la introdujo en su diccionario de 1818, sustituyendo el dígrafo ⟨нь⟩.[1]​ En el alfabeto latino de Gaj para escribir el serbio y croata es representada por el dígrafo ⟨nj⟩.[1]​

También es usado en el alfabeto macedonio y en el del idioma itelmen y udege.
