U+2044 Fraction Slash

U+2044 wurde in Version 1.1 in 1993 zu Unicode hinzugefügt. Er gehört zum Block U+2000 bis U+206F General Punctuation in der U+0000 bis U+FFFF Basic Multilingual Plane.

Dieses Zeichen ist ein Math Symbol und wird allgemein verwendet, das heißt, in keiner speziellen Schrift. Das Schriftzeichen ist auch bekannt als solidus (in typography).

Das Zeichen ist keine Zusammensetzung. Es hat keine zugewiesene Weite in ostasiatischen Texten. In bidirektionalem Text wird es als Nummerntrenner so geschrieben wie die Nummer, die es trennt. Bei einem Richtungswechsel wird es nicht gespiegelt. U+2044 verbietet nach sich einen Zeilenumbruch und auch vor sich, falls es einer Nummer folgt. Der Buchstabe kann mit einem anderen Zeichen verwechselt werden.

Das CLDR-Projekt bezeichnet dieses Zeichen mit „Bruchstrich“ für die Verwendung in Screenreader-Software.

Dieses Zeichen unterscheidet sich von U+2215 DIVISION SLASH. Es ist als Repräsentation eines tatsächlichen Bruches gedacht, nicht als Divisions-Operator.
