The glyph is a superscript version of the glyph Glifo para U+2212 Minus Sign. It has no designated width in East Asian texts. In bidirectional text it is written as European number separator from left to right. When changing direction it is not mirrored. The word that U+207B forms with similar adjacent characters prevents a line break inside it.

The CLDR project calls this character “menos en superíndice” for use in screen reading software. It assigns these additional labels, e.g. for search in emoji pickers: menos, superíndice.
