U+20E7 was added in Unicode version 3.2 in 2002. It belongs to the block U+20D0 para U+20FF Combining Diacritical Marks for Symbols in the U+0000 para U+FFFF Basic Multilingual Plane.

This character is a Nonspacing Mark and inherits its script property from the preceding character. El carácter es también conocido como actuarial bend.

The glyph is not a composition. It has no designated width in East Asian texts. In bidirectional text it acts as Nonspacing Mark. When changing direction it is not mirrored. U+20E7 prohibits a line break before it.

Actuarial notation is a shorthand method to allow actuaries to record mathematical formulas that deal with interest rates and life tables.
