Dieses Zeichen ist ein Modifier Letter und wird hauptsächlich in der Schrift Han verwendet.

Das Zeichen ist keine Zusammensetzung. Seine Weite in ostasiatischen Texten ist weite. In bidirektionalem Text wird es von links nach rechts geschrieben. Bei einem Richtungswechsel wird es nicht gespiegelt. U+3005 verbietet Zeilenumbrüche vor seiner Position. Es gibt allerdings Ausnahmen.
