The glyph is a font version of the glyph Glifo para U+05D3 Hebrew Letter Dalet. It has no designated width in East Asian texts. In bidirectional text it is written from right to left. When changing direction it is not mirrored. This letter joins with other adjacent letters and numbers to form a word. The word that U+FB22 forms with similar adjacent characters and the hyphen prevents a line break inside it. The glyph can be confused with one other glyph.

Dalet (dāleth, also spelled Daleth or Daled) is the fourth letter of the Semitic abjads, including Arabic dāl د‎, Aramaic dālaṯ 𐡃, Hebrew dālet ד‎, Phoenician dālt 𐤃 and Syriac dālaṯ ܕ. Its sound value is the voiced alveolar plosive ([d]).
